Ephesians 1

1. Paulos [Paul], an apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, to the saints , to those that are in Ephesus, and to the faithful [who believe] in Christ Jesus.
2. Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3. Blessed be the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, the one who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavens in Christ.
4. When he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless before him through love .
5. Having predestined us for adoption as [his] sons through Jesus Christ in fulfilment of his will .
6. To the praise of his glory and grace, for by it, he himself highly favoured us with that [precious] love of his.
7. Through whom we have the redemption through his blood , the forgiveness of our sins, according to the abundance of his grace;
8. Which he lavished upon us [all], with all wisdom and understanding .
9. Making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his [good] purpose , which he had before purposed by himself.
10. For the government that is perfect, so that in due time, he will gather together in one, all things in the Christ: the things above the heavens, and [also] those things that are on the earth.
11. In him and by whom also, our inheritance was preassigned , setting forth his purpose [clearly] before everyone, [with everything] working according to the counsel of his will.
12. For this is so with us for his praise and [for] the glory of himself alone, for those who in advance hope in his anointed Christ.
13. By whom also you heard the word of truth, even the very gospel of your salvation in which also you believed [and were] sealed by that Spirit who proclaimed the holy one .
14. Who is the securer of our allotment [inherited] in redemption, which we obtained unto his praise and glory.
15. By this therefore, when I heard about your faith in the Lord Jesus, and also your love[care] for all the saints;
16. I cease not in giving thanks for your sake , remembering also to make prayers for you.
17. That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of glory, give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the full [and correct] knowledge of him;
18. Illuminating the eyes of your minds so that you might see [and know] what is the expectation of our calling in him, and also what is the magnitude of the glory and the inheritance in those he had made holy.
19. And what the exceeding greatness of his power is towards us who believe, according to the effectual energy of the vigour of his strength.
20. Which was in action in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at the place of authority by himself in heaven.
21. Over [and] above all primacies , and authorities, and powers, and governments , and every name that is named; not only in this age , but in the one to come .
22. And having subjected all things underneath his feet by himself, gave him headship over all to his church.
23. Which is his body , the completeness of him who fills all [things] and everything.
